Cosimo Gottschall
Cosimo lives his passion: art. He picked up pen and paper at a young age and loves to be creative. “When I paint, time stands still, there is only the moment.”
He has a degree in industrial engineering and somehow managed to take a different path than he had planned. One thing led to another when he actively took the time to realise his dreams after graduation: writing a book and initiating an art exhibition. The first dream is still in limbo, while the latter has already been realised. His first art exhibition took place in April 2022 on Fuerteventura, where he had last resided after a long journey by car along the Atlantic coast of Europe.
The artist loves to discover new places and cultures. After spending almost a whole year on the island of Fuerteventura, he is currently finding his inspiration in the Arab culture of Morocco.
EXHIBITIONS
At the beginning of 2022, German-born artist Cosimo Gottschall presented his works to the public for the first time. The artist exhibited his works in different art markets and started a collaboration with a local gallery in Lajares, Fuerteventura called MALPAIS arte contemporáneo.
In April 2022, the artist had his first three-week solo exhibition at the above mentioned gallery. The theme of the exhibition was “Human and Nature” – on display were, for example, his interpretations of human cactus motifs, rock portraits and paintings in which human and nature submerge as one. His source of inspiration was the island of Fuerteventura, where he was living at the time.
In the summer of 2022, Cosimo returned to Germany, where the artist participated in a temporary charity exhibition at the Galerie am Brüssler Platz in Cologne. The group exhibition titled “Hope” supported (Ukrainian) people in need and took place from late August to mid-September 2022.
At the end of August, the artist exhibited his works at a self-organized vernissage at the Turf. And since the end of September until today, part of his paintings are exhibited in a garden center near Cologne.
The artist plans further exhibitions in 2023 – among others in Marseille, France and Berlin, Germany.
